For academic editing, indicate the type of manuscript (thesis, dissertation, or journal submission), field of study, number of words, and your deadline. In the case of corporate texts, indicate the type of text (brochure, web, internal document, financial report), number of words, and turnaround time.
Editing rates are quoted per word based on two tiers of editing: basic (no formatting) and substantive (with formatting).
Example: Rates for an academic text (5,000 words)

A basic edit checks for language errors, conciseness, wordiness, consistency, and language preference compliance (US/UK spelling and punctuation conventions). A more substantive edit includes formatting (journal templates, in-text citations, and references) based on the target journal’s author guidelines, APA, AMA, or CMOS etc. Incorrect DOIs and broken URLs are also flagged.
